I have achieved the sound I wanted and reduced backpressure for a minimal cost. I bought a used harley double taper muffler from a privately owned
hd shop $20. (looks like new), used a hole saw to cut thru the weld at the end and slid out the baffle. Then I drilled out the holes 20% oversize
and took the muffler to an expert welder who welded the baffle back in without burning the chrome $26.) It looks good, sounds good (not too loud), is much lighter and not cheap looking like the original. I am very happy with it.
